About

Cappy Thompson and Dick Weiss

Cappy and Dick have been friends and fellow glass artists for 40 years. A shared fascination in folk pottery and indigenous arts enticed them to clay.

Together for seven years they’ve painted on bisque-ware of their own making or that of others. Warli trees from India, Paul Klee paintings from Europe, Mexican moons and suns, H.C. Westerman, 1718 Swedish cabinet fronts…it all powers their work.

Cappy’s line is strong and bold. Dick’s is loose and brushy. Together the goal is for a rich mix of culture, clay and paint.
